Finding a bath in Bath?

That's right! I found a bath in Bath! Saturday morning I left for Bath for the weekend and it was a great weekend. I LOVE BATH. The city is beautiful with great Georgian architecture everywhere.

After a 3 hour train ride, we arrived in Bath and got some lunch. We went to a restaurant called Giraffe where I got a delicious chicken burger. After lunch, we headed straight for the Roman Baths. The Roman Baths is a hot spring water bath from when the Romans were in the city. The building is set up as a tour/museum now. With information provided throughout on the different rooms, how it worked, and the Roman Gods involvement.
Sacred Spring where people can make wishes---my wish? I'll never tell!

After about 10 minutes in the Roman Baths, the fire alarm went off and we had to leave for about half an hour. In that time, we went across the path to Bath Abbey. it is a HUGE abbey--very beautiful. We walked around inside before heading back to the Roman Baths. The Bath Abbey has loud church bells that played on and off all day Sunday---it was nice at first, but I cannot imagine living in Bath and hearing it all day long.

On Saturday there was an England versus France rugby game happening and every pub was packed. We stopped in at one and there was no room to move at all or even to get to the bar. I watched England score once---was completely lost at how Rugby works and then moved on to get dinner.

For dinner I had Moroccan food for the first time. There is an amazing Moroccan restaurant in the city center called cafe du Globe & Restaurant. I got lamb skewers and they were delicious! For desert I had an orange salad--it was sliced oranges with cinnamon and almonds on it plus a side of orange sherbet and finished it off with a Moroccan specialty- mint tea.  I was full until the next day and am still dreaming about how delicious it all was.

After dinner, we went on a ghost walk of Bath. There was a small group, a bunch of ladies who were pretty intoxicated, but kept things lively. The man doing the tour was good and it was interesting; however, it was windy, cold and rained most of the walk. Overall, well worth it.

Today, I went to Sally Lunn's for brunch. It is a famous Bath restaurant with a Sally Lunn bun specialty. For someone who does not like buns, I very much enjoyed it. The bun was topped with scrambled eggs-- very good! It was a "must do" while in Bath according to the travel guide information so I had to try it! After lunch we went to The Circus (the traffic kind not the lion/clown kind) and the The Royal Crescent. Surrounding the Royal Crescent is Royal Victoria Park with monuments, gardens, and beautiful walking paths.

Houses surrounding The Circus.

The Royal Crescent- a crescent of attached houses---probably the most expensive place to live in all of Bath.

A quaint house in Royal Victoria Park

Creek in Royal Victoria Park--love them!

After a long day of walking, street meat and caramel apples I headed back to Luton where I now need to wrap this blog up to pack for Poland tomorrow!
